Science Waterproof Investigation
The Swallowtail Class have been busy learning all about materials in Science. They have been finding objects and naming the material they are made from. Children have also been thinking about the properties of certain materials and using scientific vocabulary to describe them. We have also been taking part in investigations to find out which material would be the best to make an umbrella out of to keep Winnie the Pooh dry in the rain. Children made predictions about what would happen to each type of material when they put water onto it. They tested paper and card, felt, plastic and tissue. We also discussed how to make our investigation a fair test by using the same amount of water drops on each material each time they tested. The children had great fun and worked in pairs with amazing team work from all involved. Well done, you are great scientists!
