Absence and managing health needs
What to do if your child is sick
On the first day of absence please call the school before 9.30am.
Please continue to contact us on each following day of absence unless we know that your child has been advised to not be at school following a medical procedure or bout of sickness and/or diarrhoea.
Please note if your child is sick or has diarrhoea they should not return to school for at least 48 hours after the last bout of illness. See further guidance below.
If we do not hear from you, we will contact you on each day that your child is absent to check on their welfare. In cases of longer term absence the senior leadership team may conduct a home visit for safeguarding reasons.

Medicines in School
If you require medicines to be administered in school you will need to fill in a consent form, available in the school office before we can administer the medicine. Please check with your doctor whether the medication is absolutely essential to be delivered in school hours. Where ever possible, children should self administer.
Please refer to our school policy found with the following link:

If your child has a ongoing health condition, please speak to the school office. We will arrange a meeting with you to put in place a suitable Care Plan, so that all staff know the actions to take in order to safeguard and care for your child. Full details can be found in the policy below:
