The Tigers had fun during their maths cafe in October. Parents and carers came and joined the children for part of the morning to explore some of the maths resources that we use everyday in class. Children used bead strings to show how it helps with addition and subtraction, tried cube and shape challenges and had fun with addition and playing cards while being timed!
On Friday 21st October Panthers took part in an Anglo-Saxon day. They took part in a number of activities throughout the day to enhance their understanding of Anglo-Saxon times. Activities included weaving, designing illuminated letters, brooch and coin making and food tasting. Children showed their finished work in the celebration assembly at the end of the day!
Our topic began when we discovered a rather large egg and some footprints in our outdoor area and decided to investigate where they came from! The Lions have thoroughly enjoyed this topic and have learnt lots of information about dinosaurs. They have had fun making and excavating their own fossils, measuring dinosaurs on the playground and have learnt about endangered species and extinction. They also held a cake sale to raise money to sponsor the Bearded Dragons at Banham Zoo.
