About the Governors

Karen Harris, Co-opted Governor

I first moved to Kenninghall in 1986 when my parents relocated from Kent to buy the village shop. After marrying, my husband and I returned to Kenninghall and both our children attended Kenninghall Primary School. This has given them a firm foundation for their future. While my children attended the school, I was involved in fundraising as part of the ‘Friends’. My background includes over twenty-five years of working in the early years sector and I currently work as an Early Years Inspector on behalf of Ofsted. I am keen to learn and influence the governance of the school and help in providing the best for every child in the school.

Angela Alexander, Co-opted Governor

I have lived in Kenninghall for 40 years, my 3 children attended the school and I now have three grandchildren who, I hope, will attend the school when they are old enough. I am a new Governor having just attended my first Governor’s meeting. I am a newly retired SEN teacher having taught in Suffolk and Norfolk schools for 30 years. I have taught swimming to Kenninghall children for 20 years and still run the Sunday Fun group at the Church.

Denis Canning, Parent Governor

I have two children at the school in years 1 and 2 and I have been a governor since April 2016. I am a part-time supply teacher and the owner of an educational play centre in Norwich. I have lived in the area since 2011 when I moved from Tokyo in Japan having previously lived in Australia, Dubai, London, Norwich and North Wales. I have chosen to become a governor in order to support the children and staff at the school and to help them all to continue to thrive in any way that I can.

Sarah Bailey, Co-opted Governor

I have worked as an HLTA at the school for about 12 years during which time I have experienced working with all ages across the school. My daughter who is currently at 6th form attended this school where I feel she gained a fantastic start to her education. I live with my family in the village of Kenninghall and take an active role in community events, I feel that the school is a vital part of our community.  I have currently been a member of the Governing body for about 6 years.
