We currently have vacancies for parent governors on the Governing Body, which is open to all current parents and guardians of this school. Being a governor will afford you the opportunity to help shape and guide the progress of Kenninghall Primary School.
According to our last Ofsted report, we are a good school, with outstanding features and we are striving to ensure that all children have an outstanding learning experience. This could not be achieved without the ongoing active engagement of parents and guardians, so we can build further on what has been achieved already.
Attached is a role description for a governor but if you have any questions, please feel free to contact us. We very much appreciate your involvement and would be very open to discussing how you can help with our efforts. Please feel free to email us on firstname.lastname@example.org or contact us through the school office.
If you wish to stand as a candidate for this position, please complete and return the following in a sealed envelope to the school office (marked ‘Parent Governor Nomination Form’) to arrive no later than 3.30pm on Friday 20th April 2018.
This should include:
1. A completed nomination form
A short statement about yourself (including reasons as to why you wish to become a school governor and how you can contribute to the work of the governing body).
Eligibility to stand
- All parents and guardians of children at the school are eligible to stand as candidates in the election except If you are an elected member of the local education authority (local councillor)
- If you are paid to work at the school for more than 500 hours in any twelve month period beginning on 1st September and finishing on 31st August (during one academic year)
If there are more candidates than vacancies, an election will be held. In this scenario each parent will have one vote for every parent governor vacancy. We will notify all parents/carers about the election date, send out details of the candidates and will tell you how you can vote if you cannot attend the election.
